Running on Jewish Time

This Blow is from My Father's House

Israeli Forces, settlers clash at W. Bank outpost

I wish this was a shock, something unthinkable.

I don't want to look at pictures. I don't want to let it hurt. But how can I sit here in America, calmly, callously working when my people are tearing themselves apart.

This isn't shalom. This can't lead to shalom.

Shalom is peace,
is harmony,
is 'shevet achim gam yachad.'

I have no intelligent comments, no political analysises, no insightful thoughts. This is a time to hurt and realize that among all the nations of the world....

No one.
No one in the whole world can hurt the Jewish People like one of our own.

  • Well said, unfortunately history has proven your point right several times.

  • True...
But if you think about it..this is the inevitable coming to fruition of Herzls goals. To be a nation like all others. Jewish thieves and Jewish cops, in his own words. Jewish Prime Ministers..Jewish assasins..Jews fighting..just like in any other land..

  • Only Moshe Rabeinu could pray for the "erev rav" and have Hashem for give them. We need a miracle, I beleive, we must believe.

  • What are you waiting for? make aliya!

  • Prag-
    thank you.

"Give us a king so that we may be like the other nations..." (shumel 1)
Are the other nations so wonderful that we would want to be like them?

The real struggle is for those who say that the state is reshit tzmechat geulatenu.... This is our geulah? Being persecuted in our own land, instead of someone else's!

Every has the capacity to be like Moshe Rabbeinu. but you're right, we need to daven and have emunah and act with it

which is why I need to start planning when and how I am going to return home.

  • Settlers are being treated worse than criminals... what is this topsey turvey world we live in?

  • "eileh varechev v'eileh basusim, v'anachnu beshem Hashem elokeinu"
I don't think this is the usual way to look at it but this is how I see it. They kill eachother with war, horses guns, that's how they hurt eachother. But us, we hurt eachother with the name of G-d. With pushing other Jews away because they are not frum enough, with seperations based on G-d. That is why Jews converting to christianity is such a problem now. We are all fighting eachother in a battle of G-d, and yet none of us are winning.
yael, maybe we should all make aliyah.
lrh- a miracle? I don't think it would take that much. A little effort, a little unity, the realization that we are all on the same team.
I guess that would be a miracle.

  • sad post. I think what you're talking about is a major part of why I don't want to make aliya. The government there...its a shame. I do hope once I'm married thought to find my way to yerushalayim.
